IWN Flood Watch
IowaWeatherNow.net has issued a FLOOD WATCH for areas shaded above.
Date: 3/8/19 at 12:40pm CST
Timing: Effective Saturday….
Discussion: A jet streak will reach the Rocky Mountains tonight and will cause a surface low to develop in southwest Colorado. This surface low will track more north allowing for the rain/snow line to be further north as I did mention yesterday, this also will make for a direct southerly flow pulling warm air north as heavy rain begins Saturday morning. Rainfall amounts should range 0.5-1.0″ with locally higher amounts but the rainfall rates will be high. Current snow pack and warmer temperatures combined with heavy rain could cause flooding in areas of the watch. Strong southeast winds will gust 40-55 MPH during the day Saturday, peaking Saturday night before switching to the northwest on Sunday.
– Heavy Rain
