Timing: Effective late tonight through Wednesday morning….
Discussion: An area of low pressure will deepen later tonight which will place all of west and central Iowa in the northwestern quadrant for heavy snow. Heavy snow rates of 1-2″ per hour will be likely in the advisory area 4-8 am Wednesday morning. Total snowfall accumulation of 5-9″ expected. This one will hit quick and hard later tonight into Wednesday morning with the bulk of it coming first thing tomorrow morning. Significant reduced visibility expected during heavy snow. This will move northeast of the area by Wednesday afternoon.
