IWN Winter Weather Advisory
IowaWeatherNow.net has issued a WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY for areas shaded above.
Date: 2/16/19 at 4:50am CST
Timing: Effective tonight through Sunday night….
Discussion: An area of energy will eject into the plains today out ahead of a low pressure centered in the northwestern U.S. Strong low to mid level convergence along with upper forcing will spark a large area of snow developing from Montana, through the Dakota’s and into Iowa. Light to moderate snow will work into the area by later tonight and continue into much of Sunday before ending as flurries early Monday morning from west to east. Total snowfall accumulation of 4-8″ expected. This would be close to winter storm criteria but this will serve as your warning and advisory.
– Moderate/Heavy snow accumulations
